Santanelli experiences new ways to work with pigments in search of three-dimensionality and perspective. The pictorial material develops in branches, while organizing itself as a kind of architectonic fabric which is structured at many levels. The artist uses the force of gravity as a resource, billowing and tilting the working plane. In this way, each of the levels is superimposed in successive processing times. During the creative process, the mass of pictorial material seems to come alive, elongates, branches and freely distributed over the canvas. The result are layered surfaces, rich in textures and transparencies, in which the energy of the creative act beats and evolves.
